What Are You Thinking?

Aight, so yeah. Just from the top, I ain't Christian, I don't claim anything of that sort. I'm just a man who, by no control of my own, is connected to Holy Hip Hop now for some time. No, I'm not going to tell you my name. No, I'm not going to tell you HOW I'm connected, just know that I am. And, for the record, my real name IS Sam. (Look at you going through your contacts!) Why don't I say who I am? Cause I could lose my job. That is NOT going to happen in today's economy.

So what's the topic of this blog? Exactly what the title says. FUGAZI HOLY HIP HOP! Yessir, there is a multitude of fugazi in your genre. You don't think so? Allow me to remind you of a few things and I'ma keep it 100! I got nothing to lose, nothing to gain and my conscience is clean. So, take it or leave it, up to you. Ignore me if you like, I just know I gotta say what I gotta say cause of how I'm connected to Holy Hip Hop. If you don't like what I say, skip it, ignore it. Or don't, up to you. And don't worry, I know you want this cause you love the gossip...I will name names! LOL So whenver I blog I'll put up some truths. A minimum of three but I got much to say so there will be more than three on some posts.

So, allow me to remind you about some truths in your fugazi genre of "gospel" music:

Truth #1 - Not all of you are really believers! (COLLECTIVE GASP!)

Yeah you heard it from a non-church dude, many of you are fakin it. How do I know? Cause I'm the nigga that sees you freely looking at that ass. I'm the dude you freely cursin around. I'm the one on line behind you in the liquor store. I'm the dude you think ain't watchin but I'm watchin every step. That's real talk.

And what do I see? I see some of you so-called christian rappers aching for that shine. I see you imitating the regular rappers you watch on mtv every day. I see you hatin on them cats on bet too but you can't change that channel. LOL FUGAZI! You ain't got no talent so you rap "for God" but let a nigga like me drop some dough your way, you ready to drop the jesus in your rhymes. Fake asses. Your skillz ain't all that. Believe me!

Truth #2 - Some of you are just straight up pimpin the culture of hip hop!!!

This right here pisses me off cause like Chris said, "I AM hip hop!" And YOU not! You just USING hip hop, like a pimp uses a hoe, to get some people in and then when the with you, when they diggin what they seein, you hit them with the real you, the you that puts these barriers on people cause they not LIKE YOU! (I know this one personally, I been there.) This makes me so angry cause I see it on the regular and I lived through it.

You're just a SHINE WHORE! You want shine, to be recognized, to be KNOWN. You really just a little tad pole in a big pond, you just don't know it.

Truth #3 - You act like you bigger than you are!

I literally CRY laughin when I read garbage like this on your "prominent holy hip hop websites":

Interviewer: So Mike, what can your fans expect from you in the future? What's in store?
Mike Steez: Well yo, you know what I'm sayin? We doin it big in '09 representin Steez International Entertainment. I'm the CEO and founder of the company, you know what I'm sayin? And we more like a movement, the Steez International Movement! And our fans can expect us to be out with an album this year that'll rock the industry. We tryin to shake the industry up, you know what I'm sayin? Me and my crew, we got big things planned!
Interviewer: So how many people in your movement? (this is a question NOBODY asks but I would)
Mike Steez: Well it's me, the first lady of Steez Ent., Miss Elegant the Diva, my cousin Shay Quan the Prophetic Poet and his boy JamZ who does all our production. It's a movement yo.

How stupid does that sound to you? CEO and FOUNDER? LOL Founder of what? Do you even KNOW what an incorporation is? What a LLC is? Do you have a business model or a marketing plan? LOL RIDICULOUS!! I have never seen anyone LOVE titles more than yall niggas in "holy hip hop". LOL YOU SOUND SO STUPID! You don't even know what it is to run something tangible. Go to school and learn! And some of you I know have gone to school to learn some of this but then you come out and act like you runnin things. LOL Grow up and be real. You ain't runnin your city! You not changin your city! Some of you ain't even influencing people on a block! Get over yourself!

And some of you "radio" shows? LOL please! Stop saying "radio", you not on the radio, you at home in your lil closet or your basement, rockin your little $700 dollars worth of equipment, your little ghetto-made banners, your shades in the darkness of your crib, your bling that if it ain't fake you pimped someone to get. Come ON! You fake, you pimpin the culture, you think cause you got a mic and a skype account you a radio show? You a joke and those who know, we all just laughin at you! RADIO??? It's just your lame ass on a website account. Now there are a few "radio" shows I think are doin it right. Two or three maybe, but that's it. The rest? You not good and your discussions are boring and your imitating regular radio dj's and I'm just sick of it. Like many people I know, I'm just not listening any more.

Truth # 4 - One thing I keep hearin about is UNITY. UNITY in Holy Hip Hop is a misnomer, a fallacy. It just don't exist. From where I stand in my connection to you people and hip hop music in general, I have never seen people who "stand for the same thing" actually hate each other so much or talk about each other so much, straight up just rip niggas to shreads. I hear it all the time and I just shake my head cause one thing I learned in my early sunday school classes at 7am in our church in virginia when I was a kid, "Jesus brings us allllll together." Yeah right!! Not in your "holy" hip hop. I know why though, go back to truth #1. Some of you ain't reallly believers. You just fakin it through and through, from the pulpit to the microphone, FAKE! And you bite, so don't bite that, "from the pulpit to the microphone", it's already a play!

OK, so yeah that's my first installment. Yall can hit this blog up, put your comments or just ignore me. I just gotta voice this.

I'm out until the next truths come boiling up. Soon, very soon.

  1. Okay. I'll comment on this post. Someone just posted it over at HCR (www.holyculture.net/forum) for responses. You can read my immediate thoughts there. My screenname is Gloria and that's my real name too(ha)

I think you've made some interesting points. I'll address each briefly.

"Truth #1 - Not all of you are really believers! (COLLECTIVE GASP!)"
That's not really shocking. Not everyone attending church every Sunday singing the choir and passing out food to the widows and orphaned is a Christian either. The tares grow with the wheat. Read Matthew 13 starting at v. 24...

"Truth #2 - Some of you are just straight up pimpin the culture of hip hop!!!"
Honestly that first paragraph or so seems like some personal stuff that I don't know the details about. Too vague. I will say that people wanting shine is nothing new either. Sinful man is usually seeking ways to glorify himself instead of God. It is what it is.

Truth 3: (see response for #2) AND really a semantics thing mostly. ever heard of "internet radio?" Also, you're probably right about the quality. I don't listen to any and really only know of one (Wade O) and I've never listened to that one either...

    Truth#4: You're probably right again.

Synopsis-You're pretty good at pointing out the sin of other sinners. Just remember that "Christian" isn't synonymous with "perfect." The sin you're pointing out is why Christ died to justify us in the first place. Not saying his grace is a license to sin, but I'll put it in the words of Andre 3000 "What if I looked at you in a microscope/saw all the dirty organisms/Living in your closet/would I stop and would I pause it?" Everyone is bound to slip up and do something wrong. Some don't slip at all. They dive into sin. So then, if I examined you in the way you're examining them, would I FIND anything that's off? If so, you're in need of a savior just like all these FUGAZI rappers you're discussing...we ALL are.

    Christ is King.

  4. And there are plenty of radio shows that air both on the airwaves and online, WadeO in tri state area, FNF and Obadiah here in Miami, King Radio in LA, etc...

A lot of your claims and beefs have no substance.
